Programme published, pre-sale of tickets from 27 September
Dozens of theatre productions, a number of talks, screenings, concerts and workshops will soon be offered by the unconventional autumn Flora. The productions of top Central European theatre artists, filmmakers and musicians (with a traditional emphasis on the German-speaking area) will include „political productions“ by the Komedie Theatre Prague and the work of directors Miroslav Bambušek and Michal Hába.
Tickets for the first half of the nine-week show, the dramaturgy of which is defined by the motto „Beautiful New World“, will be available for purchase or reservation from 27 September.
Don't plan anything special for the nine weekends from mid-October to mid-December, we hope to see you at the festival again!
Ten Autumn Weeks Instead of Twelve May Days
The pandemic situation is, unfortunately, not getting any better.
Since vaccinations have become a hot topic and hope in dealing with it and since unprecedented times call for unprecedented solutions, we are moving the Flora Theatre Festival from its former May dates to the autumn.
Dear friends,We had to cancel the festival.Let’s be compassionate, sensitive and patient so that we can see each other in May 2021.
We continue to work, moving the ticket sales date, and closely watching developments...
The numbers of infected people and patients admitted to hospitals keep on dramatically growing, the government measures are getting stricter and restrictions are growing broader. It was to be expected. We have been preparing the autumn Flora from the end of March, but over the next three weeks we sense a lockdown is more likely than an easing of the measures. We are still busy, however, with the organization of the festival and keeping in touch with potential festival guests and audiences.
Ticket sales for the programme of the 24 Flora Theatre Festival have currently been postponed to Monday 2 November 2020.
24 Flora Theatre Festival remains (so far) “alive”
The astronomical autumn starts today, and it is apparent that it will be different from what we were used to. Already in March earlier this year, we decided to move the spring Flora Theatre Festival to November. Thanks to the flexibility of our colleagues – theatre makers, partners, and the festival team – we are presenting you with its full programme exactly seven weeks before the planned beginning of the festival.
2020 Flora moves to November
We firmly believe we will be able to welcome talented Czech and Slovak theatre and dance performers and German musicians in Olomouc during the week from 10 to 16 November 2020. The week-long programme, with an unconventional trip to our friends at HaDivadlo, Brno, will be framed by the festival motto “Beautiful New World”. The festival programme will be gradually revealed over the summer months and ticket sales should be launched in early autumn. Hopefully by that time most of the cultural programme will be back to normal – go to theatres and support them!
Dear friends, colleagues and partners,
In light of the current situation, it seems inappropriate to announce the festival programme, start advertising and selling advance tickets and engage you in tasks which are no longer a priority due to the circumstances.
We have therefore decided to move the May edition of the festival to another date and are working on making it possible for us to meet at Flora in November 2020.Let’s be open-minded, compassionate, sensitive and patient.Thank you.
