Flora received the Award of the Olomouc Region

The 25th edition of the international Flora Theatre Festival was awarded the regional culture award for the outstanding achievement of 2022 in the field of theatre.

We would like to express our gratitude and also congratulate the other award winners…

Madonna, the contemporary woman

NEWS

Two productions on the 26^th Flora programme – this year focused on female authors – touch on the Marian cult. Choreographer Johana Pocková with her solo To the Madonna with Rust and Swiss performer Teresa Vittuci with her solo Hate Me Tender both form their definite opinion on the ideal of womanhood as a compassionate, passive woman and devoted mother and comment on it in their own way…

We are happy to announce that Miřenka Čechová, a fearless experimenter, a personality of contemporary dance and physical theatre, returns to Flora. The versatile artist's distinctive style is based on a documentary approach and the principles of multimediality. Both of her titles from the 26DF programme – Ballet Dancers and Invisible II / Barbora Kaufmannová – are permeated by the theme of bodyshaming and its pathological effect on the human psyche…

Ticket sale starts after the Easter holidays!

Drama, dance and opera productions, performances and theatre installations are part of the genre-rich international offer of this year's Flora. The festival will feature over sixty events at ten venues in Olomouc. Ticket sale for the largest live art show in the Olomouc region starts on Tuesday 11 April at 12 noon! You can also choose from a wide range of accompanying programme… 

I AM…Susanne Kennedy

26 Flora will feature the visionary Susanne Kennedy! One of the most radical and inspiring theatre makers of recent years pushes the boundaries between theatre and other art forms, especially installation in her work. In her production I AM (VR) she also explores the relationship between the body and modern technology…

The faces of the festival in recent years have been actors Stefanie Reinsperger, Miloslav König, Stanislav Majer, Lucie Trmíková and the writer Stefan Kaegi, or rather his „robotic alter ego“. The urging typographic design of last year's Flora, exposing the leitmotif of New World 2.022, was influenced by the lingering covid pandemic and especially the Russian invasion of Ukraine…
